The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, requires annual reporting and disclosure statements. Annually Southwestern must prepare the completion or graduation rate of its certificate or degree-seeking, full-time undergraduate students which must be published by July 1st, and the Spring IPEDS reporting satisfies that deadline. Athletic graduation and transfer rates must also be published under the same timeframe and the following information satisfies the HEOA – Student Right to Know athletic graduation and transfer rates reporting requirements.
2024-2025 IPEDS Rates - Graduated by June 30, 2023: 2021-2022 Athletic Cohort 150% Reporting for 3 Year Completion and Transfer Rates
The fall 2021 Athletic cohort consists of 106 students who were enrolled as first-time full-time students and participated on an athletic team during the 2021-2022 academic year. Females represented 45% of the cohort and 54% were males. While 50% of the cohort identified as white 50% identified as racial or ethnic minorities, two or more races, or chose not to report. Overall, 75% (79) of the students transferred or graduated within 150% of time (3 years) with a total of 41% graduating on time at 100% of time (2 years) and 55% graduated within 150% of time (3 years). Gender rates: 81% of females and 68% of males graduated or transferred within 3 years, with 48% of females and 44% of males graduating within 150% of time (3 years). Students who indicated a minority status had a 66% combined graduation and transfer rate with 41% graduating within three years. Females represented 43% and males represented 57% of the cohort.
