Lauren Spencer, a freshman from Fife HS in Tacoma, WA got the win in Game 1 by throwing a perfect game along with 3 strikeouts. The Lakers won the game in 5 innings with a final score of 13-0. Shevan Defreitas, a freshman from Waipahu HS in Waipahu, HI led the Lakers with 5 RBI’s including a grand slam in the 4th inning. The Lakers also took game 2 of the doubleheader in a final score of 8-3. Shevan DeFreitas was the winning pitcher in the game and also hit her 13th homerun of the season, tying the SWOCC record, held by current assistant coach and former palyer Meg Harasymczuk. Ereanna Higbee, a sophomore from Albert M. Lowry HS, Winnemucca, NV led the Lakers with 3 RBI’s in the game. The Lakers improved to 2-0 in the southern region and 16-3 on the season.
