The Laker softball team dropped 2 games to Lower Columbia (26-10) at home just a few weeks ago, but today they bounced back and swept the Red Devils in dramatic fashion. The Lakers won game 1 of the doubleheader 14-5 while racking up 17 hits as a team. The Lakers were led by Bobbi Bertsch (FR/Vancouver, WA) and her 3 RBI’s. Shevan DeFreitas (FR/Waipahu, HI) hit her 21st home run of the season and earned the win as the pitcher. In game 2, the Lakers fell behind 0-4, but scored 6 runs in the top of the 6th led again by Bobbi Bertsch who hit her 8th home run of the season and collected 3 RBI’s for the team. Lauren Spencer (FR/Tacoma, WA) was the winning pitcher for the Lakers who improved to 25-10 on the season and will head to Gresham on Saturday for a rematch with the top team in the Southern Region, the Mt. Hood Saints.
