The 2017-2018 year will be Coach Bullock’s fourth year as head coach for Southwestern’s Men’s and Women’s Swim Teams. In the third year of the program, Coach Bullock led both teams to improvements at the NJCAA National Championships, with the Men bringing home 2nd as NJCAA Runner-up National Champions and the Women continuing to improve with a 4th place finish. The team has found success in and out of the pool by focusing on a culture of excellence. Many athletes received multiple CSCAA All-American and scholar All-American honors, the men’s and women’s teams were honored as CSCAA NJCAA Scholar All-American Teams during the all three years, and the team has had 3 school valedictorians in the past 2 graduating classes. As the team enters the fourth season, Coach Bullock continues to build on the foundation that has been established in the first few years of the program. She is excited to provide an opportunity for swimmers to continue competing at the collegiate level while striving to have a positive impact on the lives and futures of the student-athletes she is has the privilege of coaching.
Coach Bullock is a graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Touro University. She is a retired Lieutenant Commander in the United States Coast Guard. Throughout her career as an officer in the Coast Guard, she enjoyed volunteer coaching in numerous sports at all levels from little league to college. Coach Bullock’s swim coaching experience includes 3 years as an Assistant Coach for Gold Coast Swim Team and South Coast Aquatic Swim Teams from 2011 through 2014, as well as an Assistant Coach for the Dolphin Swim Team in Nassau, Bahamas during a tour of duty from 1998 through 2000. She is ASCA Level 2 certified.
Coach Reilly Kompaniet returns to Southwestern Oregon as an Assistant Swimming Coach starting the 2017-2018 season. Before joining the program as a coach, Coach Kompaniet was a member of the inaugural swimming class of 2016. While competing for the Lakers in the 2015-2016 season, he helped the Men’s Swimming team to a 4th place finish at the NJCAA National Swimming Championships. During his time at Southwestern, Coach Kompaniet was both a CSCAA Scholar All-American and a NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention attaining a 3.9 GPA for the year and placing 10th and 11th, respectively, in the 200 and 100-yard breaststrokes.
After earning his A.S. degree from Southwestern, Coach Kompaniet transferred to the University of Oregon where he is currently working towards a B.S. in both Economics & Mathematics and Computer Science (MACS).
Coach Kompaniet’s previous coaching experience includes assistant coaching positions at YMCA Grants Pass Swimming under Head Coach Marlo Manzanares from 2013-2016 and at Albany Aquatics under Head Coach Rex Watkins in 2015.
