Michael graduated from North Pocono High School in Moscow, Penn.in 1994, where he was a Wyoming Valley Conference first-team all-star in volleyball his senior year.

He earned his bachelors in film and video at Penn State University, where he was a student volunteer for both the men’s and women’s volleyball team for four years, while also playing club volleyball there.

Michael went on to be an assistant coach at Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minn. While there, he played as an outside hitter on the men’s club team, leading them to a third place finish in their club conference championship in 1999.

He joined the Air Force, serving seven years total in both Active Duty and Reserve. During his time in the military, he played on multiple base teams, earning all-tournament honors at the annual Air Force Material Command tournament in 2001.

Michael has coached many volleyball camps for kids of all ages and has coached 16U, 14U and 12U, junior girls teams.
